Digital signage and video displays are great tools for businesses and schools; to market and advertise positive activities, offer way-finding instructions, and provide schedules and instructions for consumers.
Our office at ITS uses large video displays to provide constant eyes on our server management tools, helpdesk queue, technician phone presence, client network alerts and data center bandwidth oversight. All of this content is scheduled and available through a cloud controlled device called BrightSign.
Digital Display Walls for Education
K-12 clients are starting to digitize hall-of-fame displays, removing physical trophies and plaques in favor of an interactive display. This movement generally coincides with a remodeling project that expands the main entryway into a safer, controlled entrance and removes glass cases. Video displays allow users to see and read the same artifacts and accolades with less square footage dedicated to the task.
Digital displays can also be connected with switching hubs and BrightSign media players to provide custom content for sporting and art events, student passing times and community events.
BrightAuthor software, a free download for Windows, works with your BrightSign media player to create display zones on your digital display. For example, a narrow zone at the bottom displays your school twitter feed. A vertical zone on the right side displays a Google Doc of teacher WIN time schedules, and the main rectangle on the left loops videos or slide shows created by staff or students. BrightSign Network, a paid cloud version of the software, provides the same great organizational and design tools and is accessible from any web browser.
