Everyone knows that smart phones can provide you some entertainment when there isn’t much else to do. What you may not know, is that you can also be entertained by your other smart devices. Not only this, they can also help you to not get sick.
Games on your smart speaker
If you own a smart speaker, try playing some games on it to pass the time. You could get party games for the whole household to play, or play solo trivia games if you’re the only one looking for something to do. You can usually download these games for your smart speaker via your speaker’s mobile app.
Prompt voice/video calls
Use a voice prompt to call someone when you’re making your essential trip to the grocery store. If you have a smart watch that’s even better. You can make a call without ever touching your phone.
Reduce contact with surfaces
Having a smart speaker and a smart home can enable you use your voice to turn on lights, or do other simple operations; limiting your contact with surfaces significantly. This is especially nice if you are just arriving home and haven’t had the chance to wash your hands yet but still need to turn on some lights.
News on Covid-19
Rather than staying glued to your phone, try asking your smart speaker for the latest news on coronavirus. It may be able to give you an update while you do something productive.
Help washing your hands
There are apps available on Samsung and Apple watches (and most likely others) that help you wash your hands. Depending on the app, you can get reminders throughout the day to wash your hands and then start a timer when you start washing. Alexa and Google home speakers will also play a song to help you wash your hands. You might not need that, but perhaps your kids would think it’s fun!
